Directed by Stacy Peralta

DVD

Description

Forest Whitaker narrates this hard-hitting documentary that charts the history of a deadly feud between two of Los Angeles' most notorious gangs - The Crips and The Bloods.

Tracing the history of gang society in the city, Stacey Peralta's film goes on to examine the four decade-old feud itself, along with the heirarchy of the gangs, the territoriality and the strict codes of conduct members must not break.

Using interviews with members past and present, the film highlights the devastating social issues that have arisen as a result of the feud, and asks if there is any hope for future generations of African-Americans in the city.
