Paperback / softback

Description

Waiting for Tuesday is a story about two young boys, their differences and their similarities.

Picked on for being different, a young African-American boy just wants a family. And when his bully sees the pain he is causing, he wants to right his wrongs and learns to understand and appreciate his new friend for who he is. Set against a backdrop of 1960s America with racial tensions high, Waiting For Tuesday is a tells a story that will inform and educate children on the subjects of racism and bullying, delivered in a way children will understand and enjoy. Told from the perspective of a young boy, through his eyes we see an all too familiar story unfold - the struggles this boy goes through as a young black child, the difficulties he faces, and the things he really wants.

An eye opening story, Waiting For Tuesday discusses the impact of racism and bullying and the history of this troubled time period whilst also exploring the things that could cause children to behave in this way and do the things they do.
