Review by maneekuhi
I enjoyed the first two books in this series but I thought this one was so-so. I felt like the author was skating a bit, 240 pages, didn't take too much effort on hero Max's part to do his job either, everything seemed to fall into place. I had a strong hunch as to who the killer was very early in the story. Very Early - and or once I was right. I doubt I will read any more books in this series if there are more. On the plus side I learned a bit about saffron and a bit about Franco. I'm still not sure why the killer did what he did; either I was too bored or the author didn't make it clear for me. Supporting characters seemed bored also, some relationships fall apart, others might be heading that way. Disappointing.
