Review by

When I was young, there was nothing I loved more than colouring in books of costume designs, and making up my own for cut-out dolls using pictures in magazines for inspiration. I'm sure that still happens, but now for anyone interested in costume through the ages, from young girls upwards, there is a new single source-book. DK's huge new tome is gorgeously presented with flocked details on the covers, and inside is full of the chronologies, features and snippets that you'd expect of any big DK book. From caveman to catwalk - womenswear for all occasions, menswear, sportswear, a big glossary of terms and national costumes - it's all there with all the historical detail to back it up. Simply brilliant. My own twelve year old daughter said 'Wow' - we'll both get a lot of pleasure from this book.
