The very gratifying reception accorded to the first edition of this work has prompted me to make the second edition still more acceptable to the profession.<br><br>I have rewritten a great deal of the subject matter and the other subjects have been much enlarged.

In addition many new sections and interpolations have been added.<br><br>Much attention has been paid to the causes and treatment of female diseases from the bony lesion standpoint.

Surgical gynecology has been purposely left out.<br><br>The most of the illustrations are original, while the proper credit is given for those copied.
