Thanea, Christian daughter to the pagan King Loth in King Arthur's time, survives being set to sea in an oar-less coracle as a druid sacrifice, and is taken in by St Serf as the only woman in his monastery.
In due course, she produces a son who, with his mother, founds the great city of Glasgow.

Review by lisa.schureman
I've always enjoyed Nigel Tranter's novels and I was especially interested in reading about St. Mungo as I'd visited his tomb in Glasgow Cathedral in the 1980s. The book held my interest throughout even though Tranter's books on early Scotland separating facts from myth can be difficult.
