Review by MeditationesMartini
I am on tour with the Immaculate Machine! Reviews will be short for the foreseeable future! This is actually two books! the first one is conversations with a French linguist named Mitsou Ronat that are interesting but would be more pointful to the layman if they came after the other book! That book is a discussion of his "generative grammar" theory that is also interesting and true as far as it goes in an airy way! But his dismissal of descriptive linguistics as "taxonomy" is crap, gets in the way of what linguists do best, and does kinda make him, as Languagehat says, the "dark prince of linguistics."
