Review by Eurekas
This was a terrific book. So many of the books written today are about children whose parents are not in the picture for one reason or another. This book was published in 1973 and James' parents are very much a part of the story, as is his sister. Thomas Kempe is a poltergeist who used to live in the same house as James and his family live in. The ghost has been dead since 1629 and does not understand the world of today. He is an angry, manipulative, disruptive and vindictive ghost who gets James in all kinds of trouble with his family who do not believe in ghosts and think he is the one causing a lot of the mayhem, and then the mayhem accelerates. An exciting, well written story, highly recommended!
