This book is edited by Samuel Lam, Director of the Lam Institute for Hair Restoration, Texas, and Kenneth L Williams from the Irvine Institute of Medicine and Cosmetic Surgery/Orange County Hair Restoration, California. The book is divided into 25 chapters across three sections.

The first section covers the basics of FUE beginning with the history, terminology and physics of the technique.

Other chapters include information on skin properties and anatomy, scalp anaesthesia, donor evaluation and surgical planning, and improving graft survival.

Guidance on starting a practice in FUE is also included. The second part of the book covers FUE methods in detail, and the final section features discussion on specialised topics, such as regenerative medicine, complications and difficulties of FUE, and FUE from the beard and body.
