Pride and Pleasure : Erotic Romance Paperback

Part of the Historical Romance series

3 out of 5 (1 rating)

Pride and Pleasure, the classic erotic romance - by Sylvia Day, author of the sensational international best-selling Bared to You, first book in the Crossfire series - is a tale of ambition, love and lust.

Pursued by fortune hunters, heiress Eliza Martin is the victim of diabolical scheming to get her to the altar.

She won't be bullied, however, and she will get to the bottom of this plot.

She needs a man to infiltrate her suitors and find the villain.

Thief-taker Jasper Bond is entirely too devilish and too dangerous - who'd believe Eliza would be seduced by a man like him?

But client satisfaction is a point of pride with Jasper and it's his pleasure to prove he's just the man - for all her needs.

Praise for Sylvia Day: "Move over Danielle Steel and Jackie Collins, this is the dawn of a new Day." (Amuse). "Several shades darker and a hundred degrees hotter than anything you've read before." (Reveal).

Review by

Well this book surprised me, and in a good way. I really did not know what to expect, having never read any of her other novels, although knowing about the genre of the 'crossfire' novels I was intruiged as to what this would be like. This was a really well written historical romance but 'Mills and Boon' it ain't! there are some spicy scenes contained within its pages.
Both the main characters are really well written, fiesty and strong. I loved Eliza and she certainly meets her match in Jasper. Their love story is allowed to develop over time and with the development of that love both of them change for the better.
Add into this mix a dastardly deeds and you have a cracking good read. I look forward to reading more of Sylivia's work.
