The Ecstasy of Wilko Johnson, DVD DVD

The Ecstasy of Wilko Johnson DVD

Directed by Julien Temple

DVD

Description

Documentary directed by Julien Temple about English guitarist and songwriter Wilko Johnson, who, in 2013, was diagnosed with supposedly inoperable pancreatic cancer.

Wilko, who rose to fame during the 1970s with pub rockers Dr Feelgood, speaks to the film-maker candidly about his illness and the sense of elation he felt for the world around him upon becoming aware of his impending death.

The film captures the guitarist as he begins working on a long talked about project with The Who's Roger Daltrey and his experiences on what he believes will be his farewell tour.
