Discovering The LLeyn Peninsula Paperback / softback

Paperback / softback

Description

PUBLISHER NOTE: The text was first published in 2012 as a 'coffee table book', (now out of print).

This edition is revised for 2021 as a delightful paperback pocket guide. (Part of a trilogy of guides including Discovering The Dorset Coast and Discovering The Mendip Hills).

With all embracing text the book allows the reader to discover the Lleyn Peninsula, with a Foreword written by HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

The images showcase this beautiful Welsh region at its most extraordinary and unspoilt best in a user friendly format.

Six spectacular walks are included, now with OS mapping, to allow the reader to experience the area first-hand.

Historic towns, quaint fishing villages, Iron Age forts and standing stones make up this extraordinary landscape where ancient tracks can still to be found, the landscape enhanced by numerous white-washed farms and a patchwork of enclosed fields.

The historic text and captivating images will delight both tourists to the area and proud locals.

The Lleyn Peninsula, the arm in the Irish Sea extends some 30 miles west from Snowdonia in North West Wales and is no more than 8 miles wide, giving easy access to the contrasting north and south coast.

The area was designated an area of outstanding natural beauty (ANOB) in 1956, and due to the remoteness of the area it has remained unspoilt.
