Description

Hilary Griffiths conducts the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra in this production of Wolfgang Fortner's opera based on Federico García Lorca's tragic play 'Bodas de Sangre'.

The opera tells the story of a bride (Banu Böke) and groom (Gregor Henze) and two feuding families.

When his wife runs away with her ex-lover (Thomas Laske), whose family killed his father and brother, the groom goes after them and ultimately fulfils a prophecy of crime.
