Not in My Lifetime : A Fair Trade Campaigner's Journal, Paperback / softback Book

Not in My Lifetime : A Fair Trade Campaigner's Journal Paperback / softback

Paperback / softback

Description

A unique account providing the full story of the creation of possibly the largest campaign movement that the UK, if not the world has ever seen.

A Lancashire market town became the world's first Fair Trade Town when the people of Garstang made their self-declaration at a Public Meeting in April 2000. This spearheaded a global movement for change with over 2000 Fair Trade Towns in 34 countries across 6 continents eventually following suit.

Bruce Crowther, the founder and creator of Fair Trade Towns, tells the moving story of how and why he became involved with campaigning and his time working as Fairtrade Towns coordinator and international Fair Trade Towns Ambassador, as well as having a growing family and running The FIG Tree International Fair Trade Centre.

The book will appeal to all those with an interest in Fair Trade and Fair Trade Towns; campaigners, charities, local authorities, faith leaders, school teachers, students and community leaders from the UK, as well as further afield from other international Fair Trade Town campaigns.

Over 50 supporters backed a Kickstarter Crowdfunding appeal to publish this book with all proceeds going to support the work of The FIG Tree, Oxfam and the Lorna Young Foundation.
