Returning from Mesopotamia in 1924 via India, Japan, and Canada, Harry visited Hawaii and was in the crater of Mt Kilauea when the volcano erupted. Harry spent many months undertaking safari surveys for hydro-electric schemes in Kenya for the East African Power and Lighting Company, negotiating in Madras for the Pykara Falls hydro-project, surveying Government Electricity Installations in Nigeria and visiting China on the Trans-Siberian Express to bid for the Shanghai Electricity Department, returning around the world for a second time.
