Karola was born to a Jewish family in Belgrade, Yugoslavia (now Serbia) at the beginning of WW2.

Life for Karola became terrifying and heartbreaking during Nazi occupation.

Many of her family members, including her father, were executed.

Karola and her mother survived the war by using assumed names.

At the age of 10, she immigrated to the newly established State of Israel with her mother and step-father.

This brought further difficulties, living in a tent, being fostered and struggling with a new language.

Nevertheless, her early struggles did not hold her back.

She has experienced an interesting and eventful life Karola studied journalism and Russian language and literature; and speaks six languages.

She has travelled widely and has known great joy, love and happiness in spite of unspeakable tragedies.

Karola currently lives in Andalusia, Spain.
