Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus Paperback
by Mo Willems
When a bus driver takes a break in this hilarious Caldecott Honor-winning picture book, he gives the reader just one instruction: "Don't let the pigeon drive the bus!" But, boy, that pigeon tries every trick in the book to get in that driving seat: he whines, wheedles, fibs and flatters.
Will you let him drive? Told entirely in speech bubbles, this brilliantly original and funny picture book demands audience participation!

These Mo Willems books are amazing. A great way to read to a child and have them go through the experience with you. This book is about a but driver that asks you at the beginning to not let the pigeon drive the bus. The pigeon begs and begs showing frustration and anger. The pigeon says "oh I get it, you don't want me to be happy..." this is a great way to get feelings across. The pigeon tries and tries to convince the reader to let me drive the bus, but we don't budge. The bus driver returns and the pigeon did not drive the bus.I read these books to children and they become so interested as big words, colorful expressions, and voice levels incline. This would be great to get children in the class room to show examples of facial attitude. You could assign or read aloud, I find that reading this one aloud allows for more interaction.
