Charley's War : Underground and Over the Top v. 6 Hardback

4 out of 5 (1 rating)

Renowned UK comics writer Pat Mills ("Marshal Law", "Slaine") and legendary artist Joe Colquhoun ("Johnny Red") continue the thrilling, humorous and horrifying story of World War One soldier Charley Bourne.

Charley's unit, under the brutal and thoughtless command of the vile Snell, are detailed to join the 'clay-kickers' in a dangerous plan to mine under the German lines...and then comes Charley's first, terrifying charge 'over the top'!

Rich in the detailed minutiae of the terror-punctuated existence of a Tommy, this sixth volume of "Charley's War" features a brand new introduction and director's commentary by Pat Mills, plus exclusive bonus content.

Charley takes part in the mining, his brother joins up, he goes over the top again, he earns his marksmanship badge and has some training. It's nasty and brutish and tells a lot about the reality of warfare.
