Thumbelina/Anastasia/A Troll in Central Park, DVD

Triple bill of animated children's features. 'Thumbelina' (1994) is based on Hans Christian Anderson's classic tale about a girl the size of her mother's thumb.

As the only girl of such a tiny dimension, Thumbelina (voice of Jodi Benson) naturally feels a little lonely.

It is little surprise, then, that she falls hopelessly in love with the similarly tiny fairy, Prince Cornelius (Gary Imhoff), when he appears on her window sill.

Separated from her one true love after her abduction by the dastardly Mrs Toad (Charo), Thumbelina must somehow escape and find her lost love in a magical land. 'Anastasia' (1997) is an animated retelling of the story of the Russian peasant girl who discovers that she is actually the daughter of Tsar Nicholas II.

After the revolution in 1917, Anastasia (Meg Ryan) is spirited away from the Bolshevik executions of her family, and taken in by a family in Siberia.

Anastasia determines to reclaim her royal legacy, but must stay out of the clutches of Rasputin (Christopher Lloyd), who wishes her dead.

The film also features the vocal talents of John Cusack and Kelsey Grammer, as the conmen who unwittingly discover Anastasia. 'A Troll in Central Park' (1994) follows the adventures of Stanley (Dom DeLuise), the nicest troll in Troll Land.

Too nice for his own good, Stanley is exiled to New York City by the evil Queen Gnorga (Cloris Leachman), who believes he will be forced to act badly there.

Stanley lands in Central Park, however, and feels right at home, befriending two young children whose parents don't pay them enough attention.

When Gnorga again appears and tries to destroy everything, Stanley decides enough is enough and determines to stand up to his Queen.
