Jobriath A.D. DVD

Directed by Kieran Turner

DVD

Description

Documentary about American rock musician Jobriath. The film chronicles the artist's ill-fated career in which he shined briefly in the 1970s before tragically dying at the age of 36 as a result of AIDS in 1983.

Credited as being the first openly gay rock star to be signed to a major label, Jobriath was discovered by manager Jerry Brandt and signed to Elektra Records.

Despite his debut album being released to a marketing and media frenzy, Jobriath failed to achieve huge commercial success but nonetheless left an influential legacy behind him.
