What a book, I read it in 2 days! Following the story of two families and covering the years 1949 - 2008, this book is full of many wonderful twists and turns and characters that will have you remembering them for a long time to come. Five young men and one young women begin what will prove to be a life long connection at Oxford University. The art work of Sir Alfred Munnings is at the heart of their story, and what happens between them all will end in a feud that spans three generations of their families. A feud begun with a secret and maintained by the hand of fate. There's plenty of hope and loss, love and regret, deceit and revenge and just when you think all is well a surprise is waiting around the corner.

A rather predictable time waster, as enjoyable as a cream meringue and good as a rest from heavy books. I loved the setting and the differentiation of the characters but I could see the ending coming a mile off.

Weak plotting and writing.
