Description

The F minor Mass represents a high point not only in Bruckner's works, but also within the genre of mass settings. The extensive work is now available in a new, representative edition, edited by Rudiger Bornhoft. In addition to Bruckner's autograph, the two surviving copyist copies of the score were critically evaluated and the Bruckner complete edition was used for comparison. The performance material also includes an organ part, made by Siegfried Ochs, who was still in personal contact with Bruckner.

Die f-Moll-Messe stellt einen Gipfelpunkt nicht nur in Bruckners Werken dar, sondern auch innerhalb der Gattung Messvertonungen. Das Umfangeiche Werk liegt nun in einer neuen, repräsentativen Edition vor, herausgegeben von Rüdiger Bornhöft.Neben Bruckners Autograph wurden die beiden erhaltenen Kopistenabschriften der Partitur editionskritisch ausgewertet und zum Vergleich auch die Bruckner-Gesamtausgabe herangezogen. Das Aufführungsmaterial enthält auch eine Orgelstimme, angefertigt von Siegfried Ochs, der noch in persönlichem Kontakt mit Bruckner gestanden hatte.
