Furrows Turned, Hardback Book

Furrows Turned Hardback

Hardback

Description

This book is essentially an autobiography, but it traces in particular the changes which occurred in British agriculture during the second half of the twentieth century.

The author writes from his experience of being brought up on a farm, studying for an agricultural degree, farming in a family partnership and a career in agricultural consultancy.

He details consultancy experience gained in South Yorkshire in an area of small Pennine family farms which were mainly grassland, in Warwickshire where the farming was more mixed, and in Essex where the farms were large with the accent on arable crops.

The consultancy section concludes with experience in management in Somerset and Gloucestershire.

Later chapters deal with early retirement, travelling and a further career as a part-time Anglican minister.
