Bernhard von Gudden (1824 - 1886) war einer der fortschrittlichsten deutschen Psychiater.

Fruhzeitig engagierte er sich fur die Einfuhrung des in der englischen Psychiatrie entwickelten "no-restraint"-Prinzips.

Mitbegrunder der modernen Neuromorphologie. Sein Forschungskonzept: "retrograde Degeneration". Professor fur Psychiatrie in Zurich (1869 - 1872) und Munchen (1872 - 1886).
