Description

Imagine that you were a child refugee and had to leave your home and your memories behind?

What would you take with you? Our young protagonist has to decide how many of his favourite toys, books, board games, and family pictures he could fit in his only suitcase.

But leaving his beloved pet dog Emma behind is one of the hardest things for him to do.

Struggling with the idea of introducing the topic of refugees to your little ones? 'Goodbye, Emma' is your book! It helps them relate to the hardships of children fleeing war and torture as it tells the story of a child refugee who is forced to leave behind his pet when his family flees the country.

This book is based on a true story. Documentary makers of a documentary 'Faraway Land' came across 'Goodbye, Emma' book in the home of a refugee family when doing the research for their film in Athens.

The first lines from the book became the film's title. And the film opens up with a narrator reading 'Goodbye, Emma'.

We are thankful to the filmmakers of "Faraway Land" for featuring our book in their film which won multiple awards.'Goodbye, Emma' is the first book authored by Julie G Fox and published by Clever Fox Press charitable publishing company.

Clever Fox Press was founded in 2015 in response to the refugee crisis in many parts of the world (Syria and Ukraine among others).

All the proceeds from sales of Clever Fox Press books (we now have more than 50 titles) are donated to charities supporting child refugees and children fighting life-threatening illnesses.
