Description

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility.

Revolt from tyranny is not democracy. This is the throwing-off of intolerable burdens that prevent democracy; and as democracy has been prevented, so is there no preparation for it and anarchy results.

The tyrannized people go to excess, knowing not the civic restraint of self-discipline.

Excess is the Oppo site of democracy. The red revolutions of past and present are the negation of democracy, although the released people may eventually become democratic.

Democracy is more stable than despotism.
