Victorian Bakers, DVD DVD

Victorian Bakers DVD

DVD

Description

The complete first series of the bakery drama presented by Annie Gray and Alex Langlands.

Four bakers are challenged to work under the conditions of the Victorian times.

Their journey starts in 1837 as they adapt to more primitive baking methods and ingredients, to the 1840s where poor harvests inflated the price of wheat and meant alternate grains had to be utilised.

They progress to the 1870s where the advent of industrialisation began to transform the way baked goods were made, and changing tastes demanded more extravagant offerings.
