Since he first appeared on the Czech art scene in the mid-1960s as part of the return to figural expression, Jiri Anderle (born 1936) has earned a unique place not only in the Czech context but internationally as well.

He achieved recognition above all for his graphic art, in which he developed a unique artistic language based on the masterful use and combination of various printmaking techniques.

His prints won prizes and commendations at numerous international biennials and triennials of graphic art from the 1960s onwards.

The wide-ranging work that Jiri Anderle has created over more than fifty years includes prints, drawings, paintings and sculptures.
