Problem Solving for Better Health : A Global Perspective, Hardback Book

Problem Solving for Better Health : A Global Perspective Hardback

Edited by Barry H. Smith, Joyce J., PhD, MBA, RN, FAAN Fitzpatrick, Pamela Hoyt-Hudson

Hardback

Description

This book describes various applications of the Dreyfus Health Foundation's Problem-Solving for Better Health Program, and related programs, featuring problem solving models used in communities, hospitals, and academic settings, including institutional policy changes to accommodate such programs officially.

For each of the 15 countries the Dreyfus Health Foundation is active in, there is a separate chapter that will illustrate successful interventions per country.

Personal experiences from international nursing consultants attached to the Dreyfus program are cited throughout chapters to illustrate the realities faced on the ground as well as to gain perspective on program development since inception.

The Dreyfus Health Foundation problem solving model is now integrated into various baccalaureate nursing curricula internationally and in 75 medical colleges in India.

The tools available in this curricula provide a practical approach to health problem solving at a local level.

These tools have been proven to benefit not only baccalaureate nursing students, but also students from other health disciplines (dental, international health, and public health policy) both at undergraduate and graduate levels.
