Description

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility.

As will be seen from the title-page, the book is the joint work of the Rev.

C. T. Wilson and Mr. R. W. Felkin. The first part of it is by the former, with the exception of the chapters on the manners and customs of the Waganda, in which Mr. Felkin has given some help. The second part, in like manner, is the work of Mr. Felkin, Mr. Wilson having contributed a few suggestions. It is not intended to claim literary merit for the following pages; the desire of the authors being to state as simply and truthfully as possible what they ob served in a part of the earth till now little known but which, given good roads and a just and um ambitious government, will offer a field for religious and mercantile enterprises of the utmost importance to the human race.
