Description

The year is 1938 and all is not well in the picturesque English village of West Mucklington Parva.

For a start there has been a death. The widow, Rose Stimper has died leaving a great deal of money. In her Will she has left strict instructions that the villagers should hold a General Meeting and anyone who wants to, should put forward their ideas as to how to the money should be used for the good of the village.

Everyone should then vote and the winner gets the money.

This has caused bitter rivalry between the would-be inheritors resulting in many harsh words and open threats being overheard in the lanes, in the Pig & Whistle and even the village square.

The day of the General Meeting has arrived and the candidates who have registered an interest with the Parish Council as per the widows' instructions prepare to make their ideas known to all.To some people the whole idea of what they could use the money for was nothing more than a bit of fun and a chance to stand up and have a say...There were others however who took it very, very seriously indeed, you might say there were some who might even commit MURDER.The Candidates are:The Reverend Cecil Smeeton - The Vicar of West Mucklington ParvaGino Vincenzi - A local HotelierKate Rimehill - The maid from Mucklington ManorMarmaduke Manger - Village Squire and Lord of the ManorBuffy Manger - Lord Manger's wifeHarry Clott - An under- gardener at the Manor House
