Study Guide for Bridge Resource Management may also be used as a template for maritime training facilities to use as a complete off-the-shelf BRM program that meets all regulatory requirements. In addition, the text includes four individual lessons in preparation for the exercises, which include, COLREGS, Pilot interface, as well as full bridge mission simulator familiarization. Finally, the text includes three appendices consisting of helpful student hints, various sample SOLAS International Safety Management Code (ISM) Safety Management System (SMS) checklists, and a most relevant student NTSB case study regarding the Alaskan passenger vessel EMPRESS OF THE NORTH which is required for all U.S. maritime academies.
