Adele Laurie Blue Adkins MBE, born on 5th May 1988, Tottenham, London, England, UK, is a singer-songwriter.

After graduating from the BRIT School in 2006, Adele signed a recording contract with XL Recordings.

During the following year she received the Brit Awards Critics' Choice award then won the BBC Sound of 2008 poll.

Her debut album, 19, was released that year, selling well following good reviews, being certified 8 times platinum in the UK, and 3 times platinum in the US.
