Matthew 10:28 states, And fear not them, which will kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him, which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

This is a description of God, as well as his power, who is able to do that which no man can do; all that they can do is to kill the body, but he is able to destroy (that is, to torment and punish) both the body and soul in hell.
