Zagato for Ferrari, Hardback Book

Zagato for Ferrari Hardback

Edited by Editors at Giorgio Nada

Hardback

Description

The enduring bond between the Prancing Horse and the celebrated Milanese coachworks began at the dawn of the 1950s when Antonio Stagnoli commissioned Zagato to body an original berlinetta on a 166 rolling chassis, nicknamed the "panoramica" thanks to the ample glazing that characterised its styling.

Following the birth of that car, which took part in the 1950 edition of the Mille Miglia, the relationship between the two great automotive names continued towards the end of the decade with the spectacular 250 GTs, distinguished by their unmistakeable double bubble roofs.

After a long period of separation, Ferrari and Zagato's paths crossed once again in the early 1970s and then bore further fruit in 1993 when the F.Z.93 93. appeared. Today, the celebrated coachbuilder, now a true atelier producing one-off bodies for wealthy clients, continues to produce unique Ferraris.

This is the first in a series of monographic books that over the next few years will be expanded with further titles dealing with Zagato-bodied Maseratis, Lancias and Alfa Romeos.
