This design features Erte's Symphony in Black. Erte , renowned for his delicate figures and sophisticated, glamorous designs, experienced a resurgence in interest in his work during the latter stages of his career, shortly before his death in 1990.
His art deco designs helped to define the fashions of his generation, and he's noted as saying he believed 'that feminine clothes should serve to adorn women's charm'.
