This publication sets out the text of the Model Scheme on Port State Measures to Combat Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing.

This is aimed at all FAO States, fishing entities and regional fisheries management organisations, with the objective to facilitate the implementation of effective action by port States to prevent, deter and eliminate IUU fishing.

Topics covered in the Model Scheme include: inspection and enforcement procedures, training of inspectors, information systems, and ensuring implementation in a fair, transparent and non-discriminatory manner.
