Description

Documentary about the folk music scene in Cambridge, Massachusetts, throughout the 1960s.

The film chronicles the careers of famous musicians such as Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Tom Rush and Peter Rowan, outlining how folk music transformed from the interpretation of traditional ballads to the singer-songwriter generation.

These emerging talents showcased their work at Club 47, which was opened by Joyce Chopra and Paula Kelley in 1958 and soon became a hotspot for the growing folk music scene.

The film also explores the legacy left by these performers as folk music's popularity continues to endure.
