Selected Drama and Verse, Paperback / softback Book

Paperback / softback

Description

This edition presents, for the first time in English, a selection from the repertoire of the first Polish woman dramatist, Princess Franciszka Urszula Radziwillowa (1705–1753), with a historical-biographical Introduction incorporating interpretations of her works.

Radziwillowa’s plays treated complex issues concerning intimate relationships.

In her poetry she explored new, very personal, means of expression for intimate declarations, in a form of language capable of conveying the emotional distress that could not find expression under existing conventions.
