Size of Industrial Organisation and Worker Behaviour, Paperback / softback Book

Size of Industrial Organisation and Worker Behaviour Paperback / softback

Part of the Cambridge Papers in Sociology series

Paperback / softback

Description

This book, originally published in 1970, dealt with differences in the structure of large - and small - scale industrial organizations and the consequences of these differences for worker behaviour.

Special attention is directed to the finding that large, bureaucratically organized industrial plants have higher rates of absenteeism than small ones, but similar rates of labour turnover.

The problems are analysed with reference to a critical examination of the theoretical approaches in industrial sociology of the time, as well as the author's own empirical investigations.
