This first or general volume includes the English text of a general course of lectures on international law which Hersch Lauterpacht delivered at the Hague Academy of International Law in 1937 and the chapters on the general part of international law which he prepared for the new edition of Oppenheim's International Law on which he was working at the time of his death.
