My name is Maelys Thomas. I am seventeen. We moved to Leicester a few years ago from Wales just in time for my GCSEs, what fun that was.

My Mamma says what a lovely girl I am with a beautiful accent.

People here try to take the piss, but I have a really good cold stare.

I love playing basketball, representing the College and my local team.

Basketball sets me free, it is a wonderful game, I really love it!

What's even nicer is that my Dadda coaches both teams.

I also love to kick box and spend a lot of time at the gym, however most of my other time is spent working on my dream of going to Oxford University next year. My best friend and true love is Poppy Stewart, my very own Sweetpea.

She is a beautiful, but troubled girl. She rides about on her skateboard, but is not your typical skater girl.

I adore her, but she does find life rather hard. She cuts herself, because she says it makes her feel alive.

I can't understand why as she is so bright and intelligent and pretty.
