Der Titel „Frühlings-Sonate“, nach der heiteren Stimmung des Werkes, stammt nicht von Beethoven selbst. Spielfreude kommt hier aber nicht nur im Rondosatz auf. Das ruhig fließende, lyrische Adagio molto espressivo des 2. Satzes ist ebenso schön zu spielen wie das Scherzo mit der Tempobezeichnung Allegro molto.
