'Granny Says...' was born over the last twenty years whilst entertaining my grandchildren.

I have been very poorly all of their lives and spent a lot of time in bed.

They used to love nothing more than piling on top of it. We spent many hours drawing, playing, reading and writing.

Then, at regular intervals, we would scribble down 'What Granny Says...' Each time they visited out would come our list and we would add to it.

This began when the children were very young, and as each new family member arrived, the scribbles continued.

All five of my grandchildren have contributed to the list. They wanted to include bits about me too, and these are included just as they said them.

They also chose the content of the book, the colours and what doodles and pictures to include.

So without them, there would be no book. I am immensely proud and grateful to them all.
