While this started with one of my pet hates, kidnapping that turns to love, Sands manages to turn this trope around and present a story that charmed me. Jeanne Louise Argeneau is caught up in her work, but one day her routine is disrupted when a co-worker kidnaps her. He wants her to turn his daughter who is dying with a nasty inoperable, untreatable brain tumor. As he knows about immortals or vampires he knows the possibilities and he's at his wits ends what to do for his daughter, he's already lost his wife. When Jeanne Louise wakes she finds that she can't control him, he's her lifemate and when she finds what he wants she realises that she has a possible solution to the situation, but will Paul go for it?My heart did drop when I started to read this but the way it was handled was excellent and the book dragged me in until it finished. I liked it, liked the characters and the way the romance built.
