Description

This book is intended to provide an overview of the recent advances and applications of novel types of optical fibers, known as photonic crystal fibers (PCFs).

Such fibers present an array of embedded air holes in the cladding, whereas they can have either a solid core or a hollow core.

The properties of these fibers can be rather different from the conventional ones, enabling new and very interesting applications.
