Matthew Anthony Cronin is a biologist, with a Ph.D. from Yale University, an M.S. from Montana State University, and a B.S. from the State University New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry.

He has worked in the university, government, and private sectors, and published papers in the scientific literature.

Dr. Cronin served as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. He has three children and after three decades in Alaska now resides in Montana.
