Description

'It's Time' is a prime example of Roach tackling a new project with an open-minded inclusiveness that gave importance to co-operation with other artists, while still asserting his own bold musical authority. On this unusual album, recorded in 1962 with an all-star sextet, Max is joined by a vocal choir conducted by Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson and also features a solo spot by guest singer Abbey Lincoln. Max is credited as composer and orchestrator of all six pieces.
