Owing to the damaged condition of the Ohio Canal near Dresden, Ohio, and between that point and Cleveland, there is at present (mar. 31, 1920) no continuous water connection between the Ohio River and the Great Lakes via the Muskingum River; other connec tions, such as those which formerly existed b way of the Beaver and Little Beaver, Scioto, Miami, and Wabash alleys, have long since been obliterated.
