Book 2: The Message

He was surprised that there was enough light to see the pock marked surface as the moon slowly made its way past them. He had successfully learned how to Fold Space and move an object into position. On this Fold his two ships, Wheel One and Wheel Two were within sight of each other. It was their first time at moving into an away from the Earth position. The trial was secret, and they would need to return to their launch point before becoming visible to any potential Earth side observers.

Bram wanted to make the Wheels move along a Fold. This would make them into space skimmers.

His successful first Fold to an initial distant location would be followed with Folds that would Fold millions of miles and allow his Wheels to explore much of the universe.

He had developed a plan that would rapidly increase the distances he would Fold.

Unexpectedly a message from some distant galaxy was intercepted.

The message was a plea for help. This was an accidental discovery and one that challenged the Fold team.

If the message traveled in normal space then it would be billions of years old and there would be nothing that could be done to help. But if the message was coming through a Space-Time Fold then taking action would be crucial.

Bram and Zuri run multiple tests to determine the answer and in the process discover the math that makes a Fold dynamic and maneuverable.

They design several tests that uncover the need to considerably modify Bram's Fold equations. This process leads to the discovery that experiencing a Fold has a positive regenerative health effect.

Finally, their marine bodyguard, Orlando, weaves the problem into his early morning jogging ditty and suddenly Bram knows a way to modify the Fold equations. He conquers the ability to have a dynamic Space-Time Fold.

Then at Christmas, success is crowned with Zuri's transformation from a wheelchair bound young woman to one that is defect a free person. It is a miracle!

Bram experiences tears as he realizes the miracle that the Fold process delivered.

He and the team then reply to the Aliens that Earth will help.

Two miracles end a spectacular year.
